Just how much do our animals understand us? 08/01/2010
My wife and I had, at the time, suspected our Abyssinian (Sheba) understood more than she let on, and one day in the bathroom my wife spotted a particularly large daddy long legs. She screamed of course! ;-) So I came running to the rescue, as did Sheba. After clearing away the nasty spider we expressed to Sheba that maybe she could earn her keep by checking the corners of the bathroom for spiders. My wife and I chuckled and went on with what we were doing. Sheba, however, took her new duties seriously and from that day onward regularly checked at least one corner in the bathroom when she came in. Having since moved to a place with even more spiders, we asked Sheba to also check the kitchen for spiders. This too she has been doing regularly... first a close-up look under the toe kick, then a tentative wave of the paw (I'm guessing this is to check for spider webs that she couldn't see). It's quite amusing to watch, and we try to remember to thank her for checking. There have been many, many, many other instances where we believe she understands us... her timing for meows when we ask her a question are a dead give-away!! Add Comment Boycott BP 05/31/2010
Unless you've been living in a cave or under a rock lately, you may have noticed how big this oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is. What may not be apparent is the damage this is causing to sea creatures throughout this area, and in the long term... hell, who knows. And that damage will ultimately affect land dwelling animals too. They are having to shell out hundreds of millions to fix this unprecedented disaster, which is already hurting them in the pocket. So lets put the boot in just a little bit more and hurt their revenue too! So, please, for the sake of the trillions of mammals, fish, birds, insects and invertebrates affected (or going to be affected) by this toxic pollution, please, please, show your disgust and NOT support this company by buying their products! This is the clearest message we can give from this side of the world! ![]() Big Ben 05/08/2010
We unexpectedly received an update about Ben this morning! His new people are taking great care of him, and he has grown tremendously - now weighs in at 26KG!!
You can see part of the doggy bed he had in my previous post about Ben... as a puppy he fitted in it quite well. Now, however, he has his own two-seater couch!! Soooo, who IS the gorgeous doggy called Ben? 05/02/2010
![]() Ben when we found him Who is Ben? Well, it’s a bit of a fairy tale story really... at least from Ben’s perspective!
One Friday evening, my wife was walking home from the train station, when she heard some kids shouting in her direction and she noticed that a puppy was following her. She took the puppy back to them and asked them if the puppy was theirs, to which they replied, “nope, we just found him.” That’s when my wife noticed how emancipated the puppy was, even in the failing evening light. So she made the decision to take him home since he seemed to have been abandoned. I know Sheba can hear me! 04/26/2010
My wife and I were meditating this morning, as we do most mornings, and Sheba was sitting quietly on my lap - she loves meditating too I think! As we were having an unguided medtation this time, I decided to experiment a little with my intuition and talked to Sheba in my mind. I told her how much I loved her and that I am privileged to have her as a teacher. After saying this and a few other things to her, I asked that she show me some sort of sign that she heard me. And to my surprise and glee, she did a quick shiver of her tail and moved her head in a bit of a stretch then settled quietly again. It was very moving to have this direct confirmation! And a real boost to my confidence!! First Post! 04/21/2010
Hi there and welcome to my new website! I have only just started learning about intuitive Animal Communication, so there's not much to report yet, but please check back regularly or sign up for the RSS feed to this blog! After waiting what seemed like an age, the book by Marta Williams, Learning Their Language, has finally arrived. And I am now reading it at every opportunity! |
